The Minister of Education, Training and Employment, Sotoca Constantine, became today the first stone of what will be the third high school and Center for Adult Education in Yecla, which will decongest the two centers currently offering secondary education in the municipality, the power accommodate 360 students, and focus the educational provision for adults in a single center.
Sotoca said the construction of this infrastructure, which will be in operation during 2012-2013, meets a need in the town "so despite the economic times, we have decided to undertake the project."
The Education Minister explained that the new facility will involve an investment of 4.7 billion euros, to be financed by the regional administration, and will have 12 units of high school, and six adult education, which will join other two classrooms to meet any needs of IES or the adult center, either.
The future building will have three separate but connected modules porches or covered walkways, which will be distributed among the different teachings.
Thus, one of the modules integrate the educational offerings of secondary and high schools, a second module will house the center of adult education, and the third will house the sports pavilion.
Sotoca explained that the new center will accommodate up to 360 secondary students, while the adults, being a teaching which is offered in turn, can serve more than 1,200 students (more than 240 in each shift).
All adult education in a single center
The launch of this new infrastructure will be a step forward in improving the quality of education in the municipality because not only will provide more space for high school students and adults, but will allow to consolidate in one space all adult education provision which is currently divided between the Centre itself Adult Education classes and their corresponding displaced IES Azorín and center Herratillas seniors, as well as in the IES José Luis Castillo Puche.
