Drivers who do not respect the disabled will be reprimanded with a warning card (12/04/2011)

The City is working with the Association of Physically Handicapped Yecla (ADFY) in its new campaign to raise awareness among drivers about the importance of respect for this group.

Vehicles are parked in, say, a space reserved for persons with disabilities, in a crosswalk or in recessed areas of the sidewalk, be warned by this group with an information card on the windshield.

The card in this campaign, entitled "For a responsible step," appeals directly to drivers warning them to think of others and respect the crosswalks.

In addition, he also remembers the special mobility needs of people with disabilities, the elderly and those carrying prams or carrying shopping.

In total, the Traffic Police Department has prepared 5,000 of these cards plus 200 posters with the same messages to be placed in conspicuous places of businesses and public facilities.

At the same time, the local police will increase surveillance on practices that may impede the transition to these people and punish offenders with the corresponding fine of 200 euros and, where appropriate, removal of improperly parked vehicle road .

Moreover, the City points out that disabled people have open access to the town hall on the street Ercilla, as the street entrance Corbalán Martinez can not meet current regulations for their access, given the geometry road and the elevation difference with the interior.
