Yecla Mayor, who has attended this morning in Murcia to presentation of the winning projects, said that these proposals "will offer ideas that will help soften the industrial character of the spaces at the entrance to Yecla"
The Mayor of Yecla, Ortuño Mark has assisted in the Ministry of Public Works and Planning, the presentation of the results of the competition of ideas for the management and treatment of the urban landscape of access to Jumilla and Yecla on axis of the N-344, organized by the Directorate General of Territory of the Autonomous Region of Murcia.
This is a call that is part of the European initiative 'Pays.Med.Urban' to improve the quality of the landscape as a factor in sustainability and competitiveness of Mediterranean urban areas.
In the ceremony held this morning, chaired by the Minister of Public Works, Antonio Sevilla, have been delivered and accesit prizes awarded by a jury after its own citizens could vote on the Internet among 12 projects submitted to the contest.
In regard to the proposed management and treatment of the urban landscape of access to Yecla, the jury awarded the prize for the proposal "Transitions" by architect José Javier Fernandez Ponce.
It has also awarded two special mentions to the proposal "Centipede" architects Maria José Climent and Jesus Navarro García Mondejar, and the project entitled "Pygmalion" of architects Antonia Díaz Sánchez, Martín González and Javier Navarro José Esteve Gumersindo Martinez.
Yecla Mayor said that the winning projects "will offer ideas that will help soften the industrial character of the spaces at the entrances to the town of Yecla, from Jumilla, to make it look nicer, more urban and livable ".
He added that these proposals are "that can be used to assess the kind of city they aspire in the future and that if we are completing Yecla profile on the new General Urban Plan. A future city project where companies want to attract new economic sectors, tourism and skilled and creative. "
The initiative includes, in the case of Yecla, an area four miles long, from the town to just beyond the crossing of the ring, and up to two miles wide, from the Source Cerrico and Magdalena to the Castillejo.
Occupies a total of over 500 hectares.
The winning entries will be exhibited also in Yecla, in the near future, so that all interested citizens can know.
