The City of Yecla in collaboration with the Energy Management Agency of the Region of Murcia (ARGEM), will launch a protocol to reduce energy consumption in the municipality, as reported by the Mayor of Yecla, Mark Ortuño.
The Governing Board approved the signing of this Protocol of action to which it is intended to preserve the environment and reduce CO2 emissions by reducing energy consumption, framed within the European project "Covenant of Mayors" signed by the Mayor of Yecla in Brussels on 29 November.
Protocol first action includes a study that will analyze the energy consumption of buildings, utilities and transportation in the town of Yecla, and to subsequently draw up a list of CO2 emissions.
After this first phase, taking into account the results, we will implement concrete measures to address a variety of areas like buildings and municipal facilities, municipal lighting, municipal fleet and public transport, private transport and local production and thermal of electricity.
The Energy Management Agency of the Region of Murcia (ARGEM) will provide the City of Yecla technical assistance and propose specific funding sources for the development of these energy efficiency projects and renewable energy.
