The rise of IBI in Yecla is between 15% and 8.5% (07/02/2012)

Councillor of Finance, Alejandro Palao, has reported that in Yecla, the mandatory application of Royal Decree of Government on December 30 will mean that owners of houses with a rateable value above the average, have increased by 15% on receipt of Property Tax (IBI) for the year 2012.

Households with a rateable value below the average, have a 8.5% increase in their receipts.

The councilman pointed out that the 30 December 2011 the Government adopted Royal Decree 20/2011 by which the council is forced to an increase in Property Tax, thus leaving without effect the agreement of the municipal council Pasao Yecla the November 7, 2011

In the aforementioned full proposal of the Team, approving the freezing of taxes and fees for the Year 2012, no not even apply the CPI.

For the IBI tax rate was lowered to freeze the amount of this tax.

As an almost universal tax for all the neighbors, our decision was to support family economies.

Alejandro Palao also explained that once approved by Royal Decree, the government team has carried out consultations in the region and the Federation of Municipalities to see if the City of Yecla was part of all municipal corporations to be followed by the rise of IBI, in view of the conditions set out in this new national government regulations.

After making these inquiries, it was confirmed that this Royal Decree, abolishes the reduction in the tax rate, as it had approved the government team last November.

On the other hand set a rate of increase as the year that each municipality had upgraded the rateable value.

In Yecla, this update was done in 2004 so it should be a 6% increase in the tax rate for those properties that far exceed the assessed value of existing homes in our city.

All this would lead to total increases listed above: 15% for properties with rateable value above the average and 8.5% for those below this

Alejandro Palao has indicated that "the central government has met with an economic crisis that has forced him to take these actions harsh and uncomfortable, and sometimes difficult to understand, but that should have been taken before. The previous Socialist government was characterized by not taking bold measures how are you, and some of those taken were slow, late, wrong and inefficient, if we see the results. "
