Allow municipal social services and specialized regional government with the same criteria to assess the severity of the risk situations of distress and affecting a child or teenager in the Region
Murcia was presented yesterday in the publication 'Instrument for Assessing the Severity of Child Situations of Vulnerability' by the Minister of Health and Social Policy, Maria Angeles Palacios
With this publication, the Social Services Network of Primary Care and Specialty Murcia has a new tool that homogenizes the protocols for the care of children in situations of vulnerability, which promote greater flexibility, efficiency and coordination the performance of government in these cases.
The implementation in the region of the 'Instrument for the Assessment of Severity of Vulnerability Situations Kids' allow municipal social services and expertise of the regional administration with the same criteria to assess the severity of risk and of helplessness affecting a child or teenager in the region, and define whether they are a risk mild or moderate, serious risk, or distress, and act on them.
The Minister of Health and Social Policy, Maria Angeles Palacios, said during his presentation that the Region is the first community to have this tool, which has been drawn for two years involved technical Autonomous Region and the municipalities of Region specialists treating children in situations of vulnerability.
In addition to unifying the evaluation criteria, the tool will facilitate the work of technical staff from social services care and protection of children and adolescents, will streamline the intervention process and promote better coordination between the municipal and regional level, contributing to the improving the quality of care provided to these children and adolescents and their families.
To implement this new tool, available today in digital format on the web: www.carm.es / psocial / maltratoinfantil, it has to do a training plan aimed at all professionals who develop social intervention programs in the field of children in the region, about 375 people from all municipalities, social workers, educators and psychologists, among others.
