Yecla already have in your hands the award credited as the "City of Science and Innovation."
The Mayor, Mark picked yesterday Ortuño award from the Secretary of State for Research, Development and Innovation, Carmen Vela, in a ceremony held at the City of Madrid.
Present were Councilman of Industry and Trade, José Antonio Hernández and responsible for the Local Development Agency, Cati Martinez
During the relevant act was the effort made by municipalities in infrastructure investments awarded innovative scientific, technological and social.
The improvement in infrastructure, innovation and business development conducted in the city of Yecla, such as the Innovation Factory, in collaboration with the commitment CETEM or energy efficiency installations, were decisive in the dossier submitted in the call for these distinctions.
With these new additions and 47 municipalities are part of the Network of Cities Innpulso of Science and Innovation.
The Mayor of Yecla, Ortuño Marcos explained that in the next three years Yecla will feature a series of policy benefits of R & D + i we "facilitate further the science and innovation from a local."
Among the benefits, these cities have awarded preferential consideration for the location of science and technology facilities owned or state participation.
The Secretary of State for Research, Development and Innovation stressed that "these distinctions are not only a result reward, but an attitude."
The crisis, according to Vela, is highlighting the need to move faster and to strengthen through innovation capabilities of each municipality to become more competitive.
For this, the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness "is ready to mobilize, loan format in the best possible financial conditions, significant budget to support innovation driven by local authorities."
Cities awarded in this edition have been, in the category of over 100,000 inhabitants, Barakaldo (Vizcaya), Bilbao, Burgos, Lleida, Madrid, Malaga and Móstoles (Madrid).
In from 20,001 to 100,000, Yecla, Alcalá de Guadaira (Sevilla), Alcoy (Alicante) and Villarreal (Castellón) and up to 20,000 inhabitants, and Ciérvana Abanto (Vizcaya), Cervera (Lleida), Etxebarri (Vizcaya) , Ejea de los Caballeros (Zaragoza), Gotarrendura (Avila) and Maimona Saints (Badajoz).
