Jose Antonio Melgares Guerrero Official Chronicler of the Region of Murcia, will be asked to deliver this year's speech Constitution Day during an official event organized by the city of Yecla, for 24 years, which will take held on December 6 at the Teatro Segura Concha.
Jose Antonio Melgares Guerrero (Caravaca de la Cruz, 1947) graduated in History at the University of Murcia and returned to his hometown to teach.
There he began to develop a comprehensive research work which resulted in numerous articles, books and media appearances and his appointment in 1981 as official chronicler of his city.
Subsequently, he was elected president of the Association of Official Reporters of the Region of Murcia and General Secretary of the Royal Spanish Association of Official Reporters.
Academician of the Royal Academy of History and the Royal Academy of Alfonso X the Wise of Murcia, was director of the Provincial Museum of Murcia in the sections for Archaeology and Fine Arts, and in recent years has played his professional work the Heritage Service of the Autonomous Community.
He was recently appointed by the Governing Council of the Region of Murcia, Official Chronicler of the Region of Murcia.
A title awarded for his outstanding reputation and track record in the investigation of the history and culture of the region.
Jose Antonio Guerrero Melgares maintains a strong relationship with the city of Yecla since crier was our Easter (1982) and our Patron (2004).
A reading of his paper on the Constitution will be invited regional and local authorities, representatives of all associations and institutions Yecla, and especially all citizens who want to participate in this act of homage to the Constitution.
In the course of the event will receive their awards from literary contest and I VIII Drawing Contest "Our Constitution" organized by the Department of Education and aimed at pupils in primary and secondary school teachers in our city.
