The city of Yecla and Ecovidrio, the nonprofit association that manages the recycling of glass packaging containers deposited in all Spain, collaborating on a campaign to facilitate the collection and recycling of packaging waste glass in local restaurateurs of the town.
The campaign starts in the month of May, with a first phase through field work to be conducted by surveys of more than 200 establishments in the town.
These surveys are intended to inform the campaign, and identify the needs of hoteliers in order to facilitate the recycling of glass containers.
Thus, the local campaigners who previously requested, provide a wheel hub specially adapted to facilitate the transport and disposal of waste glass to glass containers.
The catering sector is essential to increase the pounds of glass packaging containers deposited in Spanish, as it consumes 48% of the glass containers.
For this reason, it is important to tell the innkeepers of the importance of proper separation of glass containers in origin.
This campaign will also serve to keep raising and improving kilograms of glass packaging waste deposited in containers of Yecla.
According to the latest data for 2011, the citizens of the town recycled a total of 554 100 kg of glass, which means that each neighbor recycled an average of 15.9 pounds of glass.
Regarding the installation rate per capita glass containers, Yecla, stands with an average of 234 inhabitants per container, and at present a total of 149 igloos for glass packaging waste in the city installed.
Remember that 100% of the deposited glass containers are recycled and used to manufacture new glass containers, achieving numerous environmental benefits.
Ecovidrio is a non-profit organization responsible for managing the recycling of glass packaging waste in the containers in Spain.
Ecovidrio manages the collection of glass containers by container facility to facilitate the cooperation of citizens and ensuring recycling.
In addition, public awareness campaigns and promotes prevention stimulating volume reduction of waste generated.
