City of Yecla report that detected the presence of the Red Palm Weevil in palm trees near the town.
The red palm weevil is an insect easily spread that is likely to cause the death of the tree if not treated properly.

The first preventive measure to keep in mind is not to prune palms in summer, as this can attract the insect.
The city of Yecla will perform a preventative treatment on all copies that are in public spaces and advises those who are on your property any palm, to be put in the hands of professional gardening to make a diagnosis and appropriate treatment.
When a palm is infected and can not be saved, it must be cut and crushed by an authorized manager.
