The Murcia region is represented in the national final of the Spanish American Spelling Contest XIV of the Spanish Language by María Amparo Soriano Varela, student of Secondary School Azorin Yecla, who won the regional final of this competition.
The Director General of Educational Planning and Attention to Diversity, Begoña Iniesta, chaired the contest awards in the afternoon yesterday, which noted that "the Ministry of Education, Universities and Employment includes among its priorities the development of actions and measures to promote school success, among which are complementary actions aimed at improving students' reading and writing. "
One of these complementary activities is the regional phase of the international competition aimed at students of second High School, involving selected students from each school for their knowledge of the Spanish language spelling.
The regional final held at the IES Juan Carlos I and the finalists were subjected to an examination in which the student of Azorin IES scores best, Carlos Mirete Abenza, Mr. Francisco Cascales IES de Murcia, second, and third Franco was Aurelio Sánchez García del IES Poeta Llano Baptist Bruges.
