The Councillor for Social Policy, Remedios Lajara reported that the Local Government has approved to award grants amounting to almost 30,000 euros to a total of seven associations social character of our city, promotion programs and social reintegration.
Aid was granted to the Association of Relatives and Friends of Alzheimer Yecla (12,397 euros), the Association of Mentally Ill Yecla (6,585 euros), the Fibromyalgia Association of Yecla (2,990 euros), the Association of Widows " La Purisima "(566 euros), the Association of Cancer Affected Yecla ayac (658 euros), the Dyslexia Association, delegation of ADIXMUR Yecla (399 euros) and the Association" No Limits "(6,816 euros)
The Councillor explained that the city of Yecla spends almost 210,000 euros per year to different social associations of the city, as well as promoting these subsidies and social reintegration, 165,000 euros are used among all agreements concluded with other nine local associations and 13,300 euros for hiring technical staff to support these social entities.
Remedios Lajara highlighted the "great efforts made since the government team to support any association of our city that do excellent social work on behalf of the citizens of Yecla, especially when the aid in other municipalities have disappeared, economic reasons. I do not mean to be sufficient but should be valued the efforts made to keep them and because you are not welcome "
Furthermore, Councillor reported that the departure of basic benefits provided for food aid, electricity and other supplies to the needy has been tripled in the past year as it has grown from 70 thousand to almost 200 thousand euros.
Finally he recalled that maintain social services without being diminished cost almost two million euros to the city of Yecla.
