The Full Council of Yecla approved a joint motion of all local groups rejecting the opening of any new quarry or mining activity in the municipality.
Therefore reject the granting of research permits by the Department of Industry, Energy and Mines in the Sierra del Cuchillo in Sierra de la Magdalena and Umbria Factor and asking for its repeal.
Similarly to the relevant regional organizations requested in the matter so that, before authorizing any permit, affecting the municipality of Yecla, is notified this action for the city of Yecla report of the conditions and losses generated in the town.
Moreover, all local groups supported the proposal of the hoteliers of Yecla requesting the Autonomous Community to update the opening and closing of the catering establishments, that are suited to the current economic situation in the sector, with the support provided right off the hotel trade
Also approve agreements of collaboration with the Royal Fitted Pasionarias Guilds (with an annual municipal contribution of 22,826 euros), the International Association Phone Esperanza (which will receive 6,200 euros annually) and Yeclano Deportivo was given, which count this season with a municipal contribution of 70,000 euros
Finally, the official data from the municipal register of inhabitants to January 1, 2014, which puts the population of 34,185 inhabitants in Yecla, representing a decrease of population in the last year, more than 400 people was also known.
