On the afternoon of Friday, the Councillor for Social Policy, Remedios Lajara and director of Interfaith Caritas Yecla, Jose Maria Alonso, came to close with the presentation of diplomas, the workshop of traditional cuisine, aimed at the immigrant population, which has been doing the last few months on the premises of the old school "San José de Calasanz."
The president of Caritas, José María Alonso, explained that these workshops aim to "promote integration and foster the formation of the immigrant population."
They are part of the set of activities that this organization has organized with the collaboration of the Department of Social Policy.
Remedios Lajara indicated that his department is working "staff providing these facilities where Caritas volunteer taught cooking workshop which aims to introduce participants to the culinary culture of our city, learning to cook dishes of our gastronomy. Other content are also encouraged such as learning of the Spanish language, promoting coexistence and intercultural knowledge. "
The traditional cooking workshop, held in its third edition, has had the participation of 17 people.
Began last March 7 and was developed in a weekly session.
