With the awards contest Recycle Re-invents, aimed at primary school children of our city, (tonight at 18 pm in the meeting room of the Town Hall) ends the awareness campaign "Orgulosos recycling" promoted by the City of Yecla, in collaboration with Ecoembes, intended to convey to yeclanos the importance of their role in the recycling of packaging and in the care of the environment.
The campaign has been developed during the last quarter of last year 2014, through the media press, radio, internet or television -, informative posters and leaflets on the correct form for recycling containers, in addition to this school competition.
"He pretended to show citizens that their role is key in the recycling process and building a sustainable future for the planet", as explained by the Councillor for Environment, Jesús Verdú, who recalled that this type of campaign awareness being made in recent years have positively impacted the increase in selective waste collection in Yecla
Last year, a total of 1,360 tons of household packaging was recycled in Yecla.
Specifically, each yeclano deposited an average of 10.8 kilos of light packaging (plastic, metal and cartons) in the yellow container, 12.35 kilos carton and paper in the blue container and 15.73 kilos of glass containers in the green container.
Recycling is a civic habit.
Collaborate with the environment and helps that some products have a second life.
It also generates revenue for the city.
The City of Yecla ECOEMBES receive 138,742 euros for the recycling yeclanos made in recycling containers throughout the city.
A school competition to raise awareness about recycling
The Recycle Re-invents school competition was intended to raise awareness among schoolchildren 8-10 years of primary schools of the city of the importance of selective collection of packaging for recycling later.
About 40 students who participated had to create an object or invention made from recycled material, take a picture and email it.
The jury met on January 22, 2015, in the city of Yecla, was chaired by Councilman Environment, Jesús Verdú, and composed of municipal officers of the departments of communication, environment and social service and director ECA Studio company, which has carried out the development of the campaign.
Following discussions and votes relating decided to award the following prizes
Third prize, the student Jorge Martinez Gimenez, fourth grade student, College of La Paz.
Second prize Cesar Lopez Puche, third grade student at Colegio La Pedrera.
And the winner was Francisco Javier Albusac Amores, third grade student at Colegio San José de Calasanz
The three winners will receive a diploma and a book.
The best papers will be published on the website of the City Council and municipal social networks.
