The mayor of Yecla, Marcos Ortuño has confirmed that the Municipal Government Team will ask the Ministry of Agriculture decree allowing extraordinary measures to help farmers affected by the extensive damage from hail and strong storms of recent days.

Teodora Carmen Morales and the regional deputy Jesus Cano, who together with the Mayor and the Councillor for Agriculture could see the extent of damage to crops and infrastructure.
The Municipal Government has also requested the collaboration of the Ministry of Agriculture to repair infrastructure and rural access roads to farms affected.
Recall that a first estimate, more than 2,600 hectares in the municipality of Yecla could have been affected by the rain and hail storm that occurred on the evening of Sunday 27 September, as reported by the Department of Agriculture
The general director of Agriculture, confirmed that storms "have greatly hampered the continuity of the work of harvesting grapes and wine-making and carrying out plant health treatments with healing products, since in some cases the wood has been strongly affected ".
As for the olive, damage appreciate both fruit and wood.
Falling fruit could be increased in the coming days, because many fruits damaged may continue falling.
The damage could compromise the wood harvest next season, and the emergence of diseases.
