The Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Region of Murcia opens tomorrow Friday November 7, the First National Congress of Levantine rock art, to be held in Murcia, Cieza, Yecla and Moratalla, from 7 to 9 November.
The Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the University of Murcia organize the event, with the assistance of the City of Yecla, which is part of the tenth anniversary of the declaration as a World Heritage Site Rock Art of the Mediterranean Basin on the Iberian Peninsula considered by the scientific committee chairman and professor of prehistory at the University of Alicante, Mauro Severo Hernandez as "the most important cultural event in the last years"
This meeting of experts at the national level is to do a recap to clarify and provide the basis on which to deepen in the coming years to better understand the Levantine rock art.
In addition, we will visit several rock art sites in the region, such as coats of rooks and the Serreta in Cieza, the set of Monte Arabi in Yecla, and the Calar Cañaícas coats and black buck of Moratalla.
