The Association of Physically Handicapped Yecla (ADFY) has organized this week's Conference on Access 2008.
For this reason it has conducted a program of information activities and awareness.
The place today has consisted of a walk in the street near the Town Hall and the entrance of the municipal politicians and architects wheelchair to the Consistory.
All agreed on the difficulty of this action, so simple and everyday as opening a door and access to City Hall and the trouble it can cause to a disabled person finding of bad pot at the entrance.
Another activity that took place in these Days of Access 2008 was the Roundtable on "The urban and architectural barriers to today in Yecla, which had as speakers Councilman Works and Urbanism, Ortuño Marcos, the President of ADFY , Miguel Angel Herraiz, and Member of the Committee on Accessibility FAMDIF / COCEMFE Murcia, Emilio Cano Candel.
The Round Table addressed in detail the municipal projects to improve accessibility in Yecla, and gaps in this area, around various public spaces and services, and the demands of the disabled.
This proposal arose Roundtable Collaboration Agreement between the City of Yecla and the Federation of Associations of People with Disabilities Murcia Physical and Organic (FAMDIF / COCEMFE-Murcia).
This agreement still being processed, will create a Standing Committee on Accessibility in the town of Yecla, in order to ensure compliance and advice from the accessibility standards in all the works executed by the City Council, plus foster and develop new initiatives to promote accessibility and barrier removal in the town of Yecla.
By signing this Agreement each of the parties, City of Yecla and FAMDIF / COCEMFE Murcia, undertake to achieve full and effective social integration and normalization of people with all types of disabilities in our town.
