Yecla Mayor, Juan Miguel Benedito and the Minister of Health, María Ángeles Palacios Sánchez inaugurated this morning the new videoconferencing service Consumer Arbitration Board.

It has also assisted the Councillor for Health and Consumer Affairs, Concha Palao and General Director of Consumer Affairs, Juan Manuel Ruiz.

In the video that has served to officially launch the service the Minister of Health, explained that the Consumer Arbitration Board resolve financial claims presented by consumers against businesses, companies and professionals, through mediation, reconciliation and, ultimately, binding through the institute of private arbitration.

The need to provide better service to citizens motivated throughout the year 2004 called Project AVIR hatched, virtual arbitration by video that makes it possible to conduct the hearing phase required all consumer arbitration without need for the arbitration tribunal will have to move the head office of the Consumer Arbitration Board (Murcia), nor the citizens have to move from your municipality to resolve disputes brought before the Board consumer arbitration.

It is ultimately to bring the technology to serve the citizens of the Region of Murcia, which is also an important saving money and time.

Previously this service was introduced in Cartagena, Aguilas, Molina de Segura, San Javier and Mula

Yecla is, since 2001 the permanent headquarters of the Board and therefore the citizens of this county need not have to travel to Murcia to develop phase hearing.

The videoconferencing facility that will provide the service consumer arbitration can be performed more quickly because by not having to move the arbitral tribunals will be able to perform a greater number of audiences, and so along with the economic savings there is also achieved greater efficiency of existing human resources.

Finally, the counselor noted that in 2008 were received in the arbitration boards of the Region of Murcia 2,776 complaints and 1,044 hearings were held.

59 claims were received in Yecla with 27 hearings.

Yecla Mayor, Juan Miguel Benedito, expressed his satisfaction with the implementation of this new service, which is the result of collaboration between the Ministry of Health and the Department of Health of the City of Yecla.

This will speed up the processing of consumer complaints, and provides a better public service, saving significant time, travel and money.

It has also highlighted the work being done from the OMIC and the significant progress that has led to the introduction of the Consumer Arbitration Board to resolve disputes in this area.
