During the day yesterday, Wednesday 11 November 2009, was held at the offices of Technology Center for Furniture and Wood in the Region of Murcia, the launch meeting NANOMED project, led by CETEM, whose objective is to generate fire retardant treatment for wood boards and sheets of nanotechnology-based natural.
The project aims NANOMED: nanotechnology-based treatment of wooden elements, fire behavior.
Materials: natural wood veneers and wood based panels is to study the influence of the incorporation of nanoparticles on the properties of natural veneer and wood based panels, paying greater attention to fire behavior, to develop fire-retardant treatments conventional alternative.
NANOMED is a consortial project funded by the MICINN, through the convening of the National Plan I + D + i for the development of projects of applied research and experimental development version Technology Center, through the modality Consortium, which aims to promote cooperation between technology centers in different regions to develop R & D + i.
Participating centers that make up the consortium for the project are: the Furniture Technology Center and Wood (CETEM, Yecla, Murcia), which will coordinate the project, the Institute of Furniture, Wood, Packing and Allied Workers (AIDIMA Paterna, Valencia) and L'Urederra Technology Center (Los Arcos, Navarra).
The total eligible project budget amounts to € 905,254 and the project duration is 28 months.
In this first meeting, held to launch the project, a presentation of the general and most important of the project and planned the activities to be developed for project implementation NANOMED.
