On Tuesday November 24 CETEM took place in the conference "PEFC Chain of Custody Certification."
In this forum, attended by 15 specialized companies and students were informed of this certification and request increasingly large purchasing groups, are increasingly calling for manufacturers of furniture and joinery, both for home use as Facility.
Following the presentation of the journey was undertaken by the Coordinator of the Department of Laboratory CETEM, it had a speaker of emergency: Marta Salvador, Technical Director of PEFC Spain.
PEFC is a nonprofit organization worldwide, which promotes sustainable forest management through certification of all types of forests.
Certification is granted also to manufacturers of home furniture and joinery and public, which manufacture furniture or any other product, based on certified forest products (wood, wood products, paper, etc).
Marta Salvador explained to the attendees at the first part of the day with an overview of what is PEFC and benefits of this certification, then giving way to a brief explanation of the requirements for chain of custody process in different types of companies.
From CETEM you want to convey to businesses the importance of knowledge of such legislation, given its voluntary nature, could be a differentiating feature in certain segments of customers or markets.
