The Director General of Roads of the Ministry of Public Works and Planning, Jose Guijarro, accompanied by the mayor of Yecla, Juan Miguel Benedito, today inaugurated the road from Almansa, RM-426, after the refurbishment of this pathway provides access to the town of Yecla and connects to the province of Albacete, a performance that will improve communications between the two populations.
The CEO explained that "this work will benefit the traffic in and out of this population, resulting in a more agile and safe journey, a performance that will also increase road safety, which will benefit over 360,000 drivers traveling annually this route. "
The work of improving this road towards Almansa have taken place in the semi-urban stretch of access to the town of Yecla.
The refurbishment works have included the paving and widening of the carriageway with shoulders 0.5 m wide, an improvement that will increase road safety and a more comfortable and fluid movements.
Also been incorporated sidewalks and bike lanes on both sides of the road for safety incrmenetar pedestrians and cyclists.
It has also improved the drainage system by building speed bumps to be responsible for channeling rainwater.
Finally, new signs have been installed horizontal, vertical and beacon.
Guijarro said: "The design of this stretch of road, which has had a budget of 209,960 euros, complete the improvement works carried out previously by the Council on this road, actions that will lead to increased security and a measure will reduce accidents on our roads. "
