Local police stopped Yecla on Wednesday afternoon, a driver exceeding five times the permitted alcohol level, starred in a traffic accident in Avenida de la Paz, causing damage to street furniture and parked vehicles .
The accident occurred at around number 144, the Avenida de la Paz, when the vehicle he was driving ran off the road, colliding against the dividing of the road and causing damage to a streetlight, traffic signal and hedges of existing vegetation in the area of the collision.
Then collided with a vehicle that was parked properly, causing material damage.
The driver was tested for alcohol, yielding a rate of 1'26 exhaled alcohol milligrams per liter, representing a rate five times higher than the permitted rate.
The assessment of the damage to public roads in excess of 5,000 euros, which must be added the amount of damage caused to the vehicle parked.
Local police arrested the driver for committing a crime against road safety was taken into custody and is awaiting trial.
The arrested driver is a repeat offender and has a history of this same type of crime.
