The students of Vocational IES José Luis Castillo Puche of Yecla, Carlos Ortega Sanchis, received a national award for Higher Level Vocational Training, endowed with 1,200 euros.
The young man was recognized as the best student in Spain in the professional family of Wood, Furniture and Cork.
These national awards recognize the best academic records and career of the students and is the first time a student is awarded the professional family of Wood, a very significant sector in the region, especially in the town of Yecla.
Carlos Ortega and was awarded a Regional Training Award and is currently working in the engineering department design and management of a firm yeclana timber sector.
The awards ceremony, chaired by Education Minister Ángel Gabilondo, was attended by the Director General of Vocational and Adult Education, Joaquín Buendía.
In this competition were awarded to 26 students in Spain, one for each professional group Higher Grade.
Students of Wood and Cork Furniture IES José Luis Castillo Puche Yecla soon visit the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milan, one of Europe's most important events of this industry, which presents all the latest in design and manufacturing which will be held from 14 to 19 April.
Also this year, students set up a booth at the International Furniture Fair of Yecla, for the first time.
