The Furniture Technology Center and Wood (CETEM) located in Yecla and belonging to the Network of Technological Centres in the Region of Murcia, promoted by the Ministry of Universities, Business and Research, through the Instituto de Fomento (INFO), has presented this morning at its facilities in the new website of the International Competition of Industrial Design Furniture, which in this 16 th edition introduces its bases important changes, among which the possibility of competing in a telematics, extending the deadline for give companies more time to make prototypes, testing or prior to the furniture.

From now on, participants can be found on the contest Web site a great communication tool that will streamline procedures, while promoting its internationalization, you can count that provides for the possibility that competitors can access reference other issues can monitor the status of their projects, or access a list of companies interested in participating.

After fifteen years of the competition and after taking into account suggestions CETEM received by all those involved in it, it was decided to adapt and modify its contents and dynamic, yes, always keeping the purpose of this which is to promote the rapprochement between industrial designers and furniture companies, thus promoting the culture of design, to demonstrate its importance in the innovation process and its significant contribution to industrial success.

Among the changes from previous editions, CETEM has identified the theme of the contest, previously free, to redirect to the specific purpose of resolving a current problem, and so the theme will be innovation in the habitat, ie a design is sought of furniture or an object of both domestic and urban habitats, to produce innovations of any kind, they have to do with new conceptual proposals, with the materials, manufacture or lifestyles, among others.

There are also new dates for the delivery of projects, be professional project delivery will be until June 15 and in a second phase, which refers to the delivery of prototypes, it will be until 15 December.

With respect to the category of students, the delivery of projects will be until 15 January.
